Bio
Ervin Laszlo is a systems philosopher, integral theorist, and classical pianist. Twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, he has authored more than 70 books, which have been translated into nineteen languages, and has published in excess of four hundred articles and research papers, including six volumes of piano recordings.
Dr. Laszlo is generally recognized as the founder of systems philosophy and general evolution theory, and serves as the founder-director of the General Evolution Research Group and as past president of the International Society for the Systems Sciences. He is also the recipient of the highest degree in philosophy and human sciences from the Sorbonne, the University of Paris, as well as of the coveted Artist Diploma of the Franz Liszt Academy of Budapest. Additional prizes and awards include four honorary doctorates.
His appointments have included research grants at Yale and Princeton Universities, professorships for philosophy, systems sciences, and future sciences at the Universities of Houston, Portland State, and Indiana, as well as Northwestern University and the State University of New York. His career also included guest professorships at various universities in Europe and the Far East. In addition, he worked as program director for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). In 1999 he was was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Canadian International Institute of Advanced Studies in Systems Research and Cybernetics.
For many years he has served as president of the Club of Budapest, which he founded. He is an advisor to the UNESCO Director General, ambassador of the International Delphic Council, member of both the International Academy of Science, World Academy of Arts and Science, and the International Academy of Philosophy.

I first began to read Dr. Laszlo during my first experience with cyber-conferencing in 1998-1999. Having retired to a somewhat remote ridge in the Sierra foothills, I was about to embark on a new kind of world exploration, to be sure. He has been a guiding light for me in that process ever since. Now, having just discovered this site…I feel I’ve come home to a warm fire and a wonderful and oh-so-important conversation about what we can do if we so choose.

Interesting page. although comments are sorely lacking on the top subjects I just perused through. I do beleive that there is no lack in our Universe and that new energy sources and the implimentation thereof will certainly become neccessary

I just read your post on Cosmic Symphony. A little background: about 1 year ago my husband suffered a major stroke on the left side of the brain – affecting speech and his movement on the right side. During his hospital stay someone gave me a book, “Stroke of Insight”. This book told of a brain scientist’s own experience with a stroke on the same side of the brain. She talks extensively of going to the “right” when her left side was injured and how she felt at one with the universe and how difficult it was to come back to the “real world”. My own experience with my husband’s stroke is that he is somehow different. He is happier – despite the extreme physical difficulties he has to live with. He seems more accepting and peaceful. I often wonder if he went to the right side of his brain also and saw things he didn’t see before. He cannot explain it to me due to his speech problems, but I would love to know. I think you would find that book interesting. I enjoyed your post on the Huffington Post today.

By clear logic and simple mathematics the paper predicts the presence and properties of the Akashic Field, providing a framework for solving the big problems of physics. I am a french student of sociology. I do researches about the emergence of the “cultural creatives”. This is my third year of research. I read all books about Paul H. Ray’s studies. I am very interested in the latest researches conducted by the Club of Budapest. In the new study on America’s Cultural Creatives (2008), Paul H. Ray says: “in the US and across Western Europe and Japan, a set of independent surveys by different research teams, has found that Cultural Creatives are 33-37% of adults, averaging 35%”. The Club of Budapest has conducted studies in many countries: France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, and perhaps in Sri Lanka (??). Only data for studies in France and in Italy have been published.
I am very interested by these results. Is it possible to know the specific results of the studies conducted in Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy and Japan?
I have one last question. Is the Club of Budapest has conducted a study in Sri Lanka?
