Physical changes in the intensity of solar radiation conspire with human impacts to stress the world system. Astronomers have noted that since the 1940s, and particularly since 2003, the Sun has become remarkably turbulent, with the exception of the last year or so. Solar activity is predicted to peak around 2012, creating storms of intensity unprecedented since the 1859 “Carrington event,” when a large solar flare accompanied by a coronal mass ejection flung billions of tons of solar plasma into the Earth’s magnetosphere.
Solar storms, capable of traveling at speeds up to 5 million miles per hour, could knock-out virtually every major technological infrastructure on the planet: transportation, security and emergency response systems, electricity grids, finance, telecommunications, including satellite and other wireless networks, and even household electronic equipment.
The solar storm of 1859 was the most powerful event of its kind in recorded history. On the 1st of September of that year the Sun expelled huge quantities of high-energy protons in a large flare that traveled directly toward the Earth, taking eighteen hours instead of the usual three or four days to reach our planet. It disrupted telegraph systems all over Europe and North America. Fires erupted in telegraph stations due to power surges in the wires; and the northern lights (aurorae borealis) were seen as far south as Florida.
The next solar storm on record, in March of 1989, melted the transformers of the HydroQuebec Power Grid, causing a nine-hour blackout that affected six million people in Canada. And the solar storms that reached the Earth between October 19th and November 7th 2003 disrupted satellites and global communications, air travel, navigation systems, and power grids all over the world. It also affected systems on the International Space Station.
The solar maximum forecast for 2012 could do greater harm than any before, since human life has become much more dependent on the global energy grid. According to “Severe Space Weather Events: Understanding Economic and Societal Impacts,” a National Research Council report issued in the spring of 2009 by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, another Carrington event would induce ground currents that knock out 300 key transformers within 90 seconds and cut off power for more than 130 million people in the U.S. alone. Its cost could be as high as 2 trillion dollars, and recovery time would be four to ten years. An even worse impact would be felt in China, where the electrical grid is more vulnerable than in the West.
A major solar storm would cause the failure of electric power in most parts of the world. The above cited report of the National Academy of Science claims that this would have catastrophic consequences. People in high-rise apartments, where water has to be pumped up, would be cut off immediately. For most others drinking water would come through the taps for about half a day, but the flow would then cease without electricity to pump it from reservoirs. Transportation systems directly or indirectly dependent on electric power (which means practically all systems) would come to a standstill. Back-up generators would operate at some sites until their fuel ran out. For hospitals that would mean about 72 hours of essential care only services. Without power for heating, cooling and refrigeration, and with a breakdown in the distribution of medicines and pharmaceuticals, urban population would begin to die back within days.
Scientists forecast yet another disruptive event for the end of 2012: breaches in the Earth’s magnetic field. In the past this field protected living systems from the effects of solar storms and coronal mass ejections. Lately the magnetic field has diminished in intensity and holes and gaps have appeared. Scientists in South Africa measured cracks in the magnetic field the size of California, and in December of 2008 NASA announced that its Themis Project had found a massive breach that would allow a devastating amounts of solar plasma to enter the Earth’s magnetosphere.
The fluctuation of the magnetic field could also lead to the reversal of the planet’s magnetic poles. During the course of reversal the magnetic field would become still weaker, and the danger to life from solar and stellar radiation would greatly increase.
Another scientific report of relevance concerns the entry of our solar system into a highly energized region of space. This turbulent region is making the Sun hotter and stormier and has already caused climate change on other planets. According to Russian scientists the effects on Earth will include an acceleration of the magnetic pole shift, the vertical and horizontal distribution of ozone, and an increase in the frequency and magnitude of extreme climate events.
There is solid scientific evidence backing up the prophecy that the end of 2012 will be a turbulent epoch. Will we be ready for the abrupt shifts and disruptions it will bring, and ready to seize the opportunities that will open in their wake? We must now face this question. The answer to it is not yet in, but one thing is certain: we must wake up to both to the dangers and to the opportunities of the “WorldShift 2012” awaiting us.

And what should we do about it> And by “we”, I mean the common people that get scared when reading about such dire future, but don’t know what to do. Don’t tell me about what governments or world organizations should do, because they will do nothing for us, the people in the street. Tell me what we, individuals, are to do, at our level. I, for one, cannot start a world movement, and cannot join one in which to become truly active.I’ve tried, but I’m always outside the game. I’m just told what is in store for us, but nothing concrete about our way out, ways of protecting our dear ones and the people around us. You need to eat as much raw food, especially fruit, as possible. Sun drenched foods have phytochemicals in them which protect against solar radiation. Have you heard that eating tomatoes in sufficient quantity works as a kind of sun block? Heating and cooking raw plants kills these chemicals, as a result we humans are more prone to a variety of solar effects – for example bipolar disorder increases with solar activity and so do heart disorders, as the heart runs on its own electricity. Eating raw food will also help cleanse your body, mind and spirit, and ways of being and behaving will be far more clear, less emotional and conventional, when it is required of you. Eating fruit was the Divine Creator’s operating instruction for us (see Genesis 1:29), other dietary admissions were made as man’s heart closed, but God’s true commandment stands – for our own good as well as that of the Earth. This solar event is foretold in the book of Revelation as the Second Coming of Christ, when the great Beast (electricity) and all those who depend on it (governments, police and armies) is packed away, and the meek and poor are exalted. Its what we all have been waiting for.
The moral of the story, Lulia, is that there is no security in this world. What you can do is turn your thoughts to eternity.
I certainly don’t think it means the second coming of Jesus Christ as there will be no mistake when our Lord comes back to earth. I do believe if they major disturbances happen it will change life on earth forever and probably will end up being a good thing since at the moment the world seems “Headed to Hell in a hand basket” as the saying goes. It is time for people to examine what really matters and hopefully not conclude “TECHNOLOGY”. We need to live more simply the way the creator of life God the Father intended. Ever hear about Fatima, Portugal? The sun was spectacular on October 13, 1917. 70,000 were present and all experienced what they thought would be the end of the world. The sun was spinning for about seven minutes, giving off pinwheels of light and then seemed to descend towards the earth. After about thirteen minutes, the sun returned to its regular place in the sky. While no astrological observatories saw any measureable change in the sun, the people there and up to thirty miles away did. Not to mention that their clothes, which had been soaked by torrential rains of the previous two days and the puddles everywhere immediately dried during the miracle of the sun.
Why is that important? Because the sun has always represented God in His love and nurturance. He is the light. He gives life and gives it eternally.
People need to be reminded that God exists. Often we take too much for granted, even our own lives. For the past 28 years in Medjugorje, God has been reminding us of His call to live life well in love towards all His children. Medjugorje is in the middle of Bosnia, a key location where east meets west, Christians meet Moslems, etc.. Remarkably, Pope John Paul II said that “Medjugorje is the fulfillment and continuation of Fatima.” It’s also interesting that miracle of the sun takes place at Medjugorje often. People can look at the sun directly for an hour or more with no damage to their eyes. The sun pulsates and sometimes shows the cross or the Eucharist in it. Since permanent retinal damage would normally take place in a minute or less, this is quite remarkable and well verfied. I’ve been there twice myself.
You want to know what to do about pending disaster? Turn to God, ask for a greater faith, pray, love selflessly and you will be blessed with abundant peace regardless of the turbulence of this world. God bless you.
This will change our world and make us aware of our need for one another. We wil once again share, have an agrarian economy, and be conscious of our stewardship of the planet. We will also cherish our young, especially the unborn, and seek the wisdom of the older generation. Our government will be non-functioning as well as our technologies so do not put stock in any of these entities. Stay in the care of Jesus and trust Him completely. Should He choose to call us home then, or at anytime, this is a reminder that we must be ready to stand before His judgement Seat. Heaven is to be anticipated not feared. We are empowered to fight the forces of evil (Satan) and the only warning we require is to understand that we are in a spiritual battle. At some point our bodies will die but our souls are immortal. You have already been empowered to fight. Fear Not!
You can’t do anything about this. The thing to do is to get your life in order. Simplify your life. If you were able to read about WW11 Holocaust or the horrible African genocides ahead of time you would think no one could endure it or survive, but people did. Being a Christian I know that Christ could come back at anytime and so to me being right with God is foremost on my list. Prayer does work and faith that Christ is always present will help you to live through anything. If you die have hope you will go to heaven.
Wow. This info will go aways in explaining the confusing puzzle pieces we are being given. I feel the really bottom line is that there is nothing we as common people can do about it, except to prepare physically as well as possible with storing canned goods and water, candles, oil lamps, extra blankets (for cold climates), and prepare your soul to meet God, as best as you can. Then leave all in God’s great hands.

I would suggest you research some stories of protection from from those who have been faithful to the daily recitation of the Rosary. One that come to mind is the Catholic priest who was very devoted to the rosary and lived in Hiroshima at the time of the dropping of the Atomic bomb. The church was I beieve very close to the epic center of the blast and he survived. I heard him speak it convinced me of the power of the protection of the Rosary. So be not afraid.

Solar-Flare Surprise
Dec. 15, 2008: Solar flares are the most powerful explosions in the solar system. Packing a punch equal to a hundred million hydrogen bombs, they obliterate everything in their immediate vicinity. Not a single atom should remain intact.
At least that’s how it’s supposed to work.
“We’ve detected a stream of perfectly intact hydrogen atoms shooting out of an X-class solar flare,” says Richard Mewaldt of Caltech. “What a surprise! These atoms could be telling us something new about what happens inside flares.”
The event occurred on Dec. 5, 2006. A large sunspot rounded the sun’s eastern limb and with little warning it exploded. On the “Richter scale” of flares, which ranks X1 as a big event, the blast registered X9, making it one of the strongest flares of the past 30 years.
NASA managers braced themselves. Such a ferocious blast usually produces a blizzard of high-energy particles dangerous to both satellites and astronauts. Indeed, moments after the explosion, radio emissions from a shock wave in the sun’s atmosphere signaled that a swarm of particles was on its way.
An hour later they arrived. But they were not the particles researchers expected.
NASA’s twin STEREO spacecraft made the discovery: “It was a burst of hydrogen atoms,” says Mewaldt. “No other elements were present, not even helium (the sun’s second most abundant atomic species). Pure hydrogen streamed past the spacecraft for a full 90 minutes.”…

Answer:
Water is H2O, which is 2 hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. The oxygen atom is in the middle, with the two hydrogen atoms bonded to the oxygen. The molecule is V-shaped.
I am curious what would happen during an intense Solar Storm from our Sun would do – where these X-class solar flares produce pure streams of Hydrogen that bombards our atmosphere and interacts with the oxygen (ozone) in the air for say …hmmmm – let’s say…40 days and 40 nights? Hydrogen streams combine with atmospheric oxygen to produce water?
…But water is a combustion by-product precipitated by ignition of hydrogen in oxygen, generating flammable detonation. Water is not merely a mixture of these two gases but requires a combustible state where the integration of this highly inflammable gas combination subsequently produces water molecules.

According to Nasa, the Earth’s magnetic field that protects us(magnetosphere) has been breached, and that we are in for very intense solar storms, peaking is just 3 years or so (but solar flare can happen anytime)…so what is going to happen during Solar Cycle 24? Giant hail, and scorched earth when hydrogen/solar streams from the sun hit our atmosphere?

Solar Typhoons …When you describe the mechanism for the Earth’s crust displacement, you seem to put confidence in the inner core dynamics theory of the mantle shift. You go on to talk about the Earth’s magnetic field somehow being regenerated by the process, but then, it seems to me, you miss a vital point. Perhaps it is not the disruptions of the Earth’s core that cause fluctuations in the Earth’s magnetic field, but rather disruptions of the Earth’s magnetic field cause fluctuations in the Earth’s core.
Let me digress. I’m a computer professional and inventor, and I work with electromagnetic devices daily. A problem with an electromagnet is once a magnetically permeable material or alternate polarity magnetic field passes through the generated electromagnetic field, electric current is generated in the magnetic material, and/or the magnetic field generators get hotter through the resistance of the inducted current in the coils. The more work performed by the electromagnet, the hotter it gets. The more efficiently it performs its work, the hotter still it becomes. This is a gross over simplification, but I think you get my point. If the Earth’s magnetic field received such a tremendous distortion of its magnetic field, over a prolonged period of time, it would generate immense amounts of heat within the Earth’s core as the Earth spun through the force that was causing the magnetic field disruption. The only force that can collapse the Earth’s magnetic field is the Sun’s magnetic field.
…Actually, even if there is a proven relationship between tilt and climatic change, in my current hypothesis, the Sun flaring would cause dramatic climatic changes as the Earth’s core would heat up. A big test… does increased volcanism occur during pole shift? If the answer is yes (and my intuition tells me it is), then that would explain the climate change. Basically, as the core heats up due to magnetic induction, it causes increasing turbulence within the magma. The same causes for the crust/mantle slip would also cause increased volcanic activity and or earthquake activity. Depending upon what was released by that volcanic activity (ash = colder / gasses = hotter) the climate would be dramatically impacted. As you know, Atlantis myth is steeped with legends of volcanic activity. I believe that research can address this question with a reasonable degree of certainty, and I am already pursuing this line of thought. Your words are words of encouragement for me, so I will only put that much more vigor into it.

The book of Revelations is full of cataclysms that are going to come upon the Earth, and is very graphic in detail on the global death and destruction that is coming upon the Earth. Nasa has said that the Solar Max in 2012 may very well be the strongest since record keeping began some 400 years ago. Also according to Nasa the magnetosphere has a giant breach, …it has been noted that The Sun magnetic field can collapse the Earth’s magnetic field and cause not just a pole shift, but crust displacement – the greatest evidence, I think, to a crust displacement is the Petrified Forest in Antarctica under a mile of ice ….this is interesting the more I look into this; from a scientific point of view, the next few years are going to be interesting to say the least. I want to point out that in posting this material, I am not claiming that these events are a done deal, that they are going to happen in the timeline of the 2012 Solar max…just that they may, and we are commanded to watch and pray.

Hmmmmmmm….how to say this? I have read through all the comments here…will read through them again, thoughtfully, but at the moment, what comes up for me is the need for what we might call the ‘metaphorical’ mind….that kind of intelligence which blends the right and left hemispheres in our brain. My long time investigation of this tells me that, for the most part, in our educational curricula, the metaphorical mind is cast out along about third grade–the focus is opon the objective…it’s forbidden to believe that listening to rabbits has any value. The door to that inner magical metaphorical world is slammed shut. We are not told that it can still have value to go to that inner place….the divorce decree is issued, and we become literal readers.
Literal readers can get us in a lot of trouble…Jerusalem becomes merely real estate…the Ka’bah, the black stone…the return of Jesus…then we have the crusades, the persecutions…where oh where did we lose the metaphorical mind? But then I am a poet, well mostly I am a poet…
It seems to me that intuition and intellect need to walk together in order to understand more fully. Science is to validate that which is perceived through intuition…Jonas Salk wrote a whole book about that.
But I digress…passionately, as artists tend to do…but you know…we have some serious thinking to do, and some serious synthesizing to do if we are going to deal with our looming crisis…to go totally to prophecy and come too quickly to an interpretation of events which come from that mindset will not help very much. And where do these prophecies come from?…the metaphorical mind…which needs to reach back and hold hands with science. Just stream-of-consciousness here…bear with me. Signing in as a new interest here, I find this information quite fascinating. It seems we, as the highest intelligence on the planet have been remise in learning from our mistakes of the past. In 1859, we were ignorant of the effects of solar storms of this magnitude and were caught off guard. In 1989, we were just plain arrogant to think more of these storms could cause the damage they did. Clearly, these storms are electromagnetic in nature, and thus, all of our systems used on this planet are the natural polar opposite of the expelled and highly charged protons moving at Earth at five million miles an hour.
Even a middle school physical science student could tell you that if a huge electrical charge was about to hit your iPod, you would shut it off to minimize the damage.
