In the third millennium, knowledge will be considered as a whole, not fragmented by divisions between the great branches of disciplinarity: natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. The coming generations will witness the genesis of integrating fields of knowledge in which, for example, neurosciences, cultural studies and aesthetics will be natural companions. In our PhD program, we have made it our mission to contribute to such pioneering disciplinary hybridization.
In our Consciousness Studies programs, our approach is genuinely transdisciplinary, linked to both natural sciences and humanities. Rather than defend the split of understanding into the extreme disciplinary specialization that has called into question the unity of science, the awareness that everything is connected opens the possibility of unexplored knowledge exchanges. Traditionally, academic institutions have had a monopoly on education, rejecting epistemological innovation and categorizing studies into departments. Hence, we seek to bypass this domestication of our reflective potentialities.
